This site is a tribute to George, a cherished dad, stepdad, grandad, step-grandad, great-grandad, cousin, uncle, and friend. Known for his sharp wit and cantankerous charm, George wasn't one for sugar-coating things, but his love for those close to him was unwavering. We will forever miss his stubborn ways and unfiltered opinions, but more than anything, we will miss the fact he was always there. Whether it was to give you advice, crack a joke, or threaten to throw whatever was annoying him out of the window - George was there; and while his words may have been very blunt at times, these actions spoke volumes about the care and love he had for his family and friends.
Please join us in remembering him and celebrating the impact he made through the life he lived and the love he gave. He will always be with us - in our hearts, in our quick witted comments, and in the memories we carry forwards.
George's funeral service is at Grenoside Crematorium (North Chapel) on Monday 3rd March 2025 at 2pm.
George's family would like to invite people to wear a splash of blue to the service if they wish.
We would also like to ask that children under the age of 5 years old do not attend the service.
If you wish to attend the reception to celebrate George's life after the service, please reach out directly to Brogan (George's granddaughter) on 07984 623238 for more details.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Thornberry Animal Sanctuary to honour George's passion for animal welfare. George adored animals, and believed in the mantra "there are no bad dogs, only bad owners." It was at Thornberry where George adopted his beloved greyhounds - Albert and Cecil, and the sanctuary embodies the values he holds dear; providing care and love to animals in need. Thank you for supporting this cause close to George's heart.
I'm sure Gypsy would have greeted you on the otherside with her waggy tail. She loved the attention you gave her. Deepest condolences x
Thanks for all the atttention and treats
